Still Lots of Wading Opportunities!
Still pretty warm around here. Upper 90s today but it looks like we might cool down a little….low 90s and mid 80s by Thursday into the weekend. Back into the low 90s next week. Slight chances for rain tomorrow afternoon.
Water continues to be off until at least noon each day. Today it was off until 2:00 p.m. Looks like it will come on at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow.
Darren on the water last Saturday with Phil and Dave from Texas. Pretty good day on the sowbug/scud combo and a double midge rig. Fished mainly around boat ramp. Dana was on the water with Phillip and Aiden. They caught some fish on the Ruby 2 midge.
Last Monday, Dana and Carolyn had two families on the water. Grandfather Jim was in the boat with Carolyn and Eva and Stacey. Dana had Casey and Andy in the boat with him. We put the two fathers in the water wading. Both of the kids brought in at least one fish. We were fishing the Ruby 2 midge and stripping a holographic green crackleback. Tough but fun day!
Darren had Nick from Michigan, on the water Wednesday. Tough day for them, but streamers saved the day. Stripping a sculpin was the ticket that day.
Another family day Thursday. Don brought his daughter and her two sons. They wanted to learn how to fly fish, so we worked with them on casting and finally let them put on a bug to see how they did on presentation. It was the holographic green crackleback and another Ruby 2 day for this group. Think we have some more new fly fishers! Know that is what Don is hoping.
