Crazy Couple Weeks With All The Water
The big rain we had about two weeks ago resulted in nine spillways being open with two generators running. Part of the reason they had to open spillways is that two of the generators are down for maintenance. However, they finally shut the spillways down this morning. Yeah! The do still have two generators running and I think we will see that trend for several more days. They want to get the lake level down to power pool of 915 feet. Right now we are at 915.77 feet.
Weather has been pretty nice but we are in for some more rain this weekend. Let’s cross our fingers that it is not as much as we had with the storms we had a couple weeks ago. Temperatures are in the 70s for the most part, but chances of rain Friday through Sunday and again starting Wednesday into the weekend.
Before the rains, Jim had Greg and Rebekah from Virginia on the water for half a day. Tough day due to the high winds! Despite being blown around, they caught some fish on the JQ streamer and a ruby 2 midge.
A week ago this past Tuesday, Dana took Sam from Texas out for half a day. We now had lots of water so they went the full run. Tough day but caught fish on a crackleback or scud. He also went out again on Thursday. Jim had the same scenario, he had Jerry our on Tuesday and Thursday. They caught some fish on the ruby 2 midge.
Sunday, Mike from Lee’s Summit, spent half a day on the water with Jim. Still had heavy wind and lots of water problems but they had a good day on the JQ streamer and ruby 2 midge.
Landon took Ryan out of Ohio out for half a day Monday. Good day for them on the bug eyed bugger and ruby 2 midge.

Tuesday, Carolyn took Gary and his grandson Alex out for the day. This was Alex’s first catch of a trout on a fly rod and grandpa was happy. Caught a few on the cerise San Juan Worm but best pattern was a cream mop fly under the big ruby. Fun day!
