Relief! Cool Day Today…….High 70!
It has been hot, hot, hot! However, today we got some relief. It started raining early this morning (not that we need that), but the result was a cold front and resulting cool down. Our high today should be 70 degrees. Tomorrow will be upper 70s! Wednesday looks like mid 80s. Low 90s for Thursday and Friday. And the best goes on…low to mid 80s over the weekend!
We have seen two generators going most of the time the past few days. They have kicked it up to three for four to five hours on a couple afternoons. With this additional rain, we will probably see more of the same.
Dana on the water a week ago this past Sunday with Harold from here in Missouri. They had a good day on the ruby 2 and black copperhead midges.
Dana turned right around and hit the water again the next day with Keith and Risa. These two had just finished a one-day fly fishing school and wanted to try it out. They had a good day catching on the ruby 2 and a small white grub pattern. Another couple from the school, Peggy and Dan fished with Jim. They were catching on the ruby midge and JQ streamer.
Wendy and Melody spend all day last Monday with Carolyn. Great day for these two fly fishers on the ruby 2 or a cerise San Juan worm.
Tuesday, Jacob and Adam fish with Dana. These pretty new fly fishers had a pretty good day on the black copperhead midge and the small white grub pattern. Dana also let them try they hand at stripping!
A couple regular, regulars, Ed and Jim from the St. Louis area fished with Carolyn on Tuesday and Dana on Wednesday. Lots of fun and fish for them. Ruby 2, cerise San Juan worm and black copperhead midge. A few stripping the JQ streamer.
Thursday, Bill from Virginia, fished with Dana. Little slower day, but still good on the black copperhead and ruby 2 midges, and red San Juan worm.
Jeff from Oklahoma fished with Darren on Friday. Size 14 UV scud and the ruby 2 midge were their tickets.
Saturday, Jim had a new fly fisher, Johnny from Arkansas. They worked on casting, and other necessary skills. Dana took Guy and Reverend Rucker out for half a day. They had a fun day on the white grub, ruby and black copperhead midges.
