Nice Cool Down!
Looks like some nice, cool weather, 80s, through the weekend and into most of next week. Bad part is that there are chances of rain almost every day. We do not need any more rain! Lake is still high along with the rest of them in the White River System.
We continue to have at least two unit running every day. Many days, they are bumping it up to three for four hours or so in the afternoon, then back to two.
Daren on the water Tuesday with Allen and Chase from Texas. Fun,
Father’s Day trip. They caught fish on a #16 scud or the ruby 2 midge. Carolyn was out with Daniel and Bill from Florida. They had a good day on the ruby 2 or black copperhead midges, or cerise San Juan worm. All under the big ruby. Claude, from
Texas, spent half a day on the water with Jim. No best flies for them, but Claude did land and
miss a few fish. Dana had Mark and his wife, Virginia on the water. They had a fun and fishy day on the coperhead black and ruby 2 midges.
Wednesday,
Darren had Bill and Craig on the water all day. Good day for these
guys on the black copperhead and ruby 2 midges under the big ruby. Also caught some on a red San Juan worm. Carolyn had Jana and her sister, Sheri on the water. This was Sheri’s first time with a fly rod so we spent a lot of time working on skills. The ladies did catch some fish on the ruby 2 midge under the big ruby, but the best pattern was a holographic green crackleback trailing the JQ streamer.
Darren and Dana on the water Thursday with a family from Oklahoma. Melanie and their son, Kline, fished with Darren. Dana took Blake. Good day for everyone.
Darren’s boat was catching on a scud San Juan worm combo or the big ruby and black copperhead midge. Dana had Blake fishing a copperhead black midge, but he enjoyed stripping the JQ streamer.
Friday, Darren took Jim and his friend Bob out for half day. Good day for them on the red San
Juan/scud combo or the big ruby/ruby 2 combo.
