Beautiful Morning!

We had some much needed rain last week followed by a couple days of very slight drizzly.  Just enough to let you know there was “heavy dew” in the air.  Yesterday was cool.  I don’t think it got out of the 60s.  Today they are predicting upper 70s.  Monday will see another chance of showers and upper 70s with 70s the trend through Wednesday.  Looks like 80s through the weekend and slight chances of showers for the weekend.

Generation of some type every day last week.  The good news was this weekend.  No generation all day Saturday except for one unit on for about an hour in the early afternoon, and about the same thing will happen again today.  Monday looks like no generation until 1:00 p.m. and not as much as we have been seeing.

Stan out last Monday with Tim from Texas.  Not a bad day for them on the P&P midge.

Tuesday, Carolyn took Larry and Mel from the St. Louis area out for half a day.  A low two units running when we hit the water.  Made the guys work for their fish.  It was a mix of the size 16 red tunghead midge and lightning bug under the big ruby.

Carolyn took Mark out Wednesday morning.  His wife Fran was supposed to go with us, but she was under the weather.  ‘Hope you’re feeling better Fran!’  Much to our surprise, our best patter was a size 16 gold bead hare’s ear dropped from the big ruby.  Did catch a few stripping the holographic green crackleback.

Good day for Mel and Bill Friday when they went out with Stan.  It was the copperhead black zebra under the big ruby all the way.  They pulled fish with this combo on areas which usually do not fish well.

Couple of good days for Darrell Friday and Saturday.  Friday he took Malcolm and Ed out all day.  Lots of fish for these guys on the black copperhead midge under the big ruby.  Saturday it was Malcolm and Bob.  Another good day, but this time on the brown San Juan worm under the red midge.  The water was off all day Saturday except for a shot of “kick water” around noon.  They said this really helped the fishing.  It was almost like “deja vu” on the river.
